If you happen to be on BA 268, be aware that this flight has been severely delayed 90% of the time in the last few days, even by several hours, and if this happens again you'll miss your connection to AMS. If I were you I'd keep a close eye on the ETA for your flight before checking in at LAX on the day of departure. It may also be worth watching the incoming flight, as that may give you advance clues as to whether your flight will be late. If there's a reasonable chance of a delay, you could make a good argument that you'd much rather that your LHR-AMS flight be changed to the next day. Hey, you may even get BA to spring for a hotel in London lol. You already have a razor-thin margin before your connection time falls below the MCT for LHR T5, so all you really need is just a small projected late ETA at LHR.

This is a great idea. Unfortunately our flight to FCO departs at 6:20PM. With the delays I'm seeing, we wouldn't even be able to make that flight
From other threads it seems like LHR is in meltdown as well so I imagine heavy delays in the airport.
