There will be no change fee but you would have to pay the fare difference. If one of your flights gets cancelled or Ireland restricts travel from the UK, you might be able to make the change for no fare difference but given than EDI and DUB are hardly co-terminals I doubt it.
Thanks. As a data point I eventually got someone on the phone and it was going to cost €5000. The agent suggested short checking to LHR and booking a domestic flight to EDI from there but that seems a bit risky and something the JFK staff might reject.
