Same day flight change question

Hi all - i have never requested same day flight change before and have a question about the process. I have a paid I fare class ticket to Honolulu on flight 694 (12.19). I wanted to “same day flight change” to 692 (departs about 4 hours earlier and on a 787-9). Went through the process to request on app and am on “standby.”

Am I “standing by” for any available seat or am i standing by for another seat in my current fare class? Received conflicting messages from PP phone line, check in agent, and Admirals club rep.

PP desk said I’m standing by for a seat in my current fare class for the new flight.
Check in agent said I’m standing by for any available seat.
AC rep says same thing as check in agent - also said i won’t get refunded fare difference if my standby clears and I’m back in main cabin.

Thoughts if anyone has any insight here? I opted to remove myself from waitlist and just take the later flight to stay in first. Spending a few extra hours in the AC in PHX now….
