I have attached the image of the original flight timings and costs for LHR to Larnaca which were just over £1300. This is the flight that I could not go on due to a Covid diagnosis - and which was according to my booking available for re-book. At the moment online - I can get flight to the same destination for around £1100 or £1200. I've attached a screenshot showing one of the flights that came up on the screen today at 2pm from the Lufthansa site.
However my husband has phoned Lufthansa once & I have phoned Lufthansa twice trying to rebook. On each of these 3 occasions, the agents refused to allow us to re-book at the live, quoted cost on the Lufthansa site. The agents added on a rebooking fee of 35 EUROs per ticket PLUS a price hike of between 100 to 150 per ticket on each occasion we phoned. As explained, the cost seems to increase each time we phone. Last time they said it was £600.
When I ask them where they get these prices from - they just keep saying that these are the special, non-prefrential rates - because I am rebooking voluntarily I can't get access to the prices on the Lufthansa website.
Its very difficult to understand what is going on.. Obviously I can understand that Lufthansa would rather I did not rebook the flights - but they need to stick to the T&Cs. I also don't see how it can be acceptable to charge customers amounts of money quoted over the phone that they are not able to give me in writing..
They refuse to give me anything in writing at all showing where the 'special prices' come from.
I am not quite sure what to do. Lufthansa doesn't have a voucher system, don't allow rebookings online and don't have any way to contact them except over phone.
If anyone knows how I can sort this that would be great. I am very worried. Otherwise I may try and few more agents. If these agents keep giving me different prices and refuse to send me the workings out - I will have to find a way of recording the evidence so that I can try and do something about this..
