An additional reason might be that AF always seemed like a fancier and more sophisticated airline than KLM IMO. [I'm sure some people here would claim that PMNW and KLM were close partners, while DL and AF traditionally were partners.] AF still has a few flights with IFC and they have a special FC lounge and FC check in area at CDG. I'd also say that the lounges at AMS have worse food than the business class lounges at CDG.
Actually I've been pleasantly surprised by the state of gastronomy in Amsterdam and in the Netherlands in general with some great experiences. France has become very inconsistent and disappointing and I think nowadays I would choose London over Paris for good food. And I never thought I would hear myself state that it's now better to eat in the Swiss canton de Genève rather than in nearby France, which has adopted the service quality of Switzerland with poor food and stupid prices to match. And my last visit to Nice left me seriously underwhelmed. It was ok but nothing more.
