Interesting thread - but it seems like most are downplaying the USA domestic travel risk of testing positive during trip and then having to stay at destination for an unexpected 10 days. Even if minor symptoms, still a huge and expensive hassle. Of course, one can avoid this by: (i) refusing to test or (ii) ignoring a + test and jumping on a plane -- no mandatory testing for USA domestic travel but kinda requires you to behave badly.

Not theoretical for us - family is planning Christmas in Palm Springs. One adult kid is currently sick with Covid but 10 days up before we depart. If one of us gets sick/tests + in PS, it will be a last minute scramble to find accomodations for an extra 10 or say days (over NYE).

Struggling with decision.
