Neither is an excuse, though. The overwhelming majority of KL pax are not Dutch, and I very much doubt that any of them choose KL for the Dutch experience. Should the airline want to add a genuine Dutch flavor to its inflight F&B, it would be sufficient to offer stroopwafels or boterhammen met pindakaas en hagelslag as an option. As long as they also serve some decent proper food, such Dutch gourmet offerings won't scare too many people away.
The current EBC meals are a disgrace in every conceivable way: variety, quality, presentation. And every time you think it can't get any worse, it does. The Greta cutlery and that napkin no sane person would use even to wipe his rear end are the latest examples.
