After two so underwhelming short haul KL flights I took AF (Hop) ZRH-CDG. What a difference. Food and service were top notch on AF. Fresh salmon sandwich, yogurt and croissants were perfect for late morning 1 hour flight, multiple drink refills and they even had espresso machine! I complimented food to FA and they asked about my connection flight so that they could send my food preference ahead of time. Wow.

Connecting long haul from CDG had excellent food, cheese and desert selections. Much better than comparable long haul KL.

AF and KL aligned a lot of things, why not the food? Make AF food a bit less french, add some Dutch options and it might be a good compromise as long as quality remains AF.

Or KL think it's not worth spending a bit more on food? Or it's important to highlights cultural tradition in food offerings? But even if KL has its own Dutch inspired menu there is a lot of room for improvement.
