is it also because AF tries to keep a seat free next to each Platinum. I have once booked a seat in Economy on a A320. Let’s say it was 5A. I could change my seat to 5B if I wanted to. Tried to book another ticket on the same flight and 5A was “assigned” (to me) and 5B not available.
