I have been a member since 2010 but never used this facility before.
My car broke down late on saturday evening, BMW arranged for a tow truck however I needed a hire car for the following morning in a remote area.
I phoned Amex and they answered the phone straight away even though it was saturday night. I told them the situation and they went away to source a car, and then phoned me back later to confirm it had been sorted and followed it up with an email.
Technically I could have done all this myself, but in a stressful situation it was good to be able to rely on a third party to get it done.
Is your card a UK-issued Amex card or US-issued? Did you call the US or UK phone number to reach the Concierge? I would expect that a UK-issued card and UK-based concierge might provide better service for requests like this, but I could be wrong.
