What happens if we have had notification that our flight has been cancelled (JNB to LHR 24th February), BA have rebooked us onto a later flight the same evening but this now only gives us a 55 minute connection time for our LHR to ABZ flight? If we accept the rebooking are we then somehow responsible for the 55 minute connection or will BA get around to updating things and rebook us onto a later flight from LHR to ABZ? We are happy with the rebooking of the JNB to LHR leg but have serious doubts that 55 minutes is enough to make our LHR to ABZ flight.
We are trying to avoid phoning the very busy call centre and having to listen to the Flower Duet endlessly, so thought I'd ask on here first, if we have to phone up to get this resolved then I'll just bite the bullet and have a large G&T by my side lol.
Did you try going to Manage My Booking, and when it says your flight was cancelled and you've been rebooked, clicking "Find a different flight," then selecting the JNB-ABZ portion? It should let you change to a different LHR-ABZ flight. (You'll have to select an option that'll have the same JNB-LHR flight and then whichever LHR-ABZ leg you want.)
BA emailed me earlier today that my JNB-LHR flight (a few days before yours) was cancelled and they've rebooked me on the now only JNB-LHR flight. I played with "Find a different flight" and found it will let me make radical changes to the dates without any cost. I'm thinking of waiting until December 2022 or January 2021 is within the booking window and pushing it out to then.
