Thanks for posting, Interesting finds. I too see some logic with the A330 connection.
Could also be a tryout of dynamic award pricing, didn't we get a hint about that somewhere? Memory fails me, I just seem to recall some info about that.

Now I recall, but will not post publicly. But I do think AY has been looking into dynamic pricing for awards as a way open up more availability.
