Just returned from:
The Hermitage: Nashville: Beautiful hotel built in 1910, great lobby, great rooms and a super location. Most of the staff were great, but they clearly were understaffed. Some problems with staffers who clearly hadn't been properly trained. Would return.
Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans: Badly in need of a renovation. Rooms are not great. Gym is pretty good, location very convenient to French Quarter if that's what you're after. Staff nice but totally incompetent.
Four Seasons, New Orleans: Best rooms in NOLA easily. Hard product is great but the staff again are woefully undertrained and they are understaffed. Upon check in to our suite there was refuse in the toilet, pills and dirty Q-tips in the bathroom. Repeated requests for someone to deal with broken aircon and lights were met with "right away!" followed by no one ever coming. Housekeeping came in multiple times with DND on, etc...Also there is a freight train that goes by and sounds it's horn EVERY DAMN MORNING between 5-7am like something out of My Cousin Vinny.
