You will still see some families at the Conrad but it's definitely a more upscale, slightly older vibe. At the Hilton you'll see everything from couples to families to cruise tourists and everything in between.

I'm in FLL often, stayed many times at the Hilton and twice at the Conrad, most recenty last month, so can try to add some color.

Hard and soft product is undoubtedly better at the Conrad. Room furnishings are nicer, real turndown service, etc. Hilton rooms have been renovated since it first opened but are more of a "beachy Ikea" style, where the Conrad furnishings are more reminiscent of what you'd find in a high end beach condo (makes sense since half the bldg is high end beach condos).

Mentioned just upthread but the pool is one area where the Hilton wins. Conrad pool is a small-ish oval tucked back in the corner with some cabanas and chairs around, while the Hilton pool is larger, stretches over a larger portion of the pool deck closer to the beach, with a better variety of chairs and cabanas and places to sit.

The S3 restaurant in the bottom of the Hilton is a great spot, but it's 3 mins walking from the Conrad so really a wash. Both have convenient (but overpriced) beach markets off the lobby where you can pick up coffee, snacks, sodas, beer/wine, sandwiches and pizza, etc.

Diamond breakfast benefit is $25pp, FYI, haven't stayed at the Hilton since the new policy.

Ultimately for me it comes down to price and what you're looking for between these two. They're both good options. If I'm in town for a guys weekend or with the family and can save a few hundred $$ (or 100k points +) then the Hilton it is, otherwise if the rates are close or it's a date weekend then the Conrad gets the nod.
