The CX Penang service stops in KUL both ways... I'm not sure, but I think MH may run a triangulation HKG-KUL-PEN-HKG. And the CX departure time out of PEN is a killer (having said that, I don't know what time the MH flight leaves but one would imagine it's not at the brink of dawn).
