Good question. I fly AA in the US partially because of the BA partnership, but more for MRTC (although lately I've been flying more AA domestically in F on YUP fares).

That said, while folks on Flyertalk rave about MRTC ... I don't think MRTC has been the revenue booster that AA hoped it would be. Certainly it seems that Wall Street Journal articles repeatedly mention that MRTC did not live up to AA's plans.

Similarly, I don't think WT+ lived up to BA's plans. It seems that % wise, WT+ is usually more lightly loaded than WT or J ... unless it is full of op-ups (which seems to happen quite frequently on some routes).

I think BA would gain more flyers (at least ex-North America) if they changed their pricing structure for WT+.

From IAD, you're usually talking $800 to $1100 for WT+ with a Saturday stay. Or $1600-$1700 without a Saturday stay.

In regular old WT, it is $1100 to $1600 without a Saturday stay. (For the business traveller forced to fly in Y this is especially insulting because BA seems to be positioning themselves as the lowest cost carrier in Y when you include a Saturday stay.)

I think BA could get more business travellers that are forced to fly in Y if they treated WT+ as the full-fare Y product. Drop the WT+ discount fares for staying over a Saturday ... and the full-fare economy fares should book directly into WT+.
