I might be able to change to BKK to SFO via ICN on Asiana.
How much risk / overhead is there to transiting via Korea? I have not monitored the situation there.
The other alternative was via HKG but that seems to carry a long list of risk and reliability issues. Another may be via NRT / Japan.
I am planing to fly via ICN this weekend. From all the info I had transiting is not an issue but would let you know once I travel. I was planning to fly via HKG and found it to be a much more difficult airport to transit. My flight from ICN to BKK seems to be fairly full too.
