Once again, this isn't a case where Alaska has anything to do with this. There is no magic BA partner award bucket that Cathay has access to but Alaska doesn't.

That being said DL's award prices for domestic/Mexico redemptions can be quite reasonable out of SEA. If you'd rather burn miles for that, sure.
