My suggestion would probably be to move up to a NAS (Synology for example). The front layout might be a higher, but you get the flexibility to grow your storage (they have something called SHR/Synology Hybrid RAID), add redundancy and you can enhance the NAS with plugins. It might take a bit of work to learn how to deal with remote access, but it's worth it.
Alternatively, if you have a subscription to Office365, One Drive comes with a large amount of storage you could use, although I think the limit is 1Tb per user (depending on your subscription). There are other ways to do what you want, but they require quite a bit more time and effort.
