For all of you with baited breath on this exciting post....got through to EC after 58 minutes and the v helpful agent easily and quickly cancelled the outbound and advised I would receive half the points and £54 of £70 total taxes back - which was a pleasant surprise as I was envisaging those £35 fees etc etc - gotta love reward flights - especially when business returns where circa £650 when booking.
