The US is in a somewhat similar situation, so fares ex-US are likely to be higher. Remember, QR has the numbers; they are aware of the demand. They made a decision about how much they want to charge. If EK or EY is cheaper... by all means go with that, right?
I fully agree.
Another point to mention is that QR has been reliably flying to many Asian destinations during covid. That cannot be said of other airlines and commands a premium IMO.
