Oman is a truly beautiful country and indeed Oman Air is a really great airline on a good day. Funny you said mini-QR because that is exactly what I was thinking (but forgot to write)! Everything you said makes sense.
Another funny, WY had a "mistake" fare in early 2020 from ZRH to AKL via KUL that I booked and then 6 months later they backed out of honoring. I waited a month for refund and then charged it back. So, "I feel you"
