On a slight tangent. A friend was told by United that previous day was fine even if more than 24 hours. They did that and had no problem checking in, etc. Anybody else heard this?
The CDC FAQs are very clear: one calendar day before the flight:

It surprised me how many newscasts got it wrong and said things like within 24 hours of your flight back to the US.
