Alright, trying to understand rules and fees around changes for an award ticket I booked last night.

snagged the last Premium Plus seat for an award on YYZ-EWR-SFO. this is, right now, for Dec. 27. I had originally conveniently forgotten that rules for flights departing Canada are different than those departing the US. I thought originally, if I needed to change or cancel, I could do it for free, (cancel by changing to >30 days, then canceling), but thinking about it in more detail, since this is international-US, seems this might not be the case?

so I guess the question is this: Would changing a YYZ-EWR-SFO ticket for departure in less than 30 days trigger the $125 fee (I guess $100, since I’m silver?). I also see just above someone referencing the worldwide waiver for tickets booked by Dec. 31, but it doesn’t reference awards, just ‘standard fare’ tickets - so not sure if awards are included in that.

Can anyone advise, especially based on experience if one has it. Might want to think about my options prior to the 24 hour mark in case I want to make changes and there is a not tiny fee involved.

slight update: I did test out a change and not confirming it, and it did indicate the change fee was waived - but not sure if that was because I was within 24 hours of booking, or it was the general worldwide ticket waiver.
