I know the policy, I'm just curious if anyone here's actually be subjected to it - denied boarding or entry when you have a return ticket for five days later and a passport valid for four instead of six months, for example.
A fool I know at State who does consular services denied a woman a visa to the US because he said her passport expires within 6 months. Her passport most certainly was good for 9 months and then some.
6 month validity is one semi-asinine rule I know about. There is also the 6-page rule (6 blank pages in your passport) in certain cases.
