I dont appreciate AC adding limitations to the system, as generally when I SDC I just want to get to where I'm going, but at a different time.
I tried a couple of times yesterday to take a later flight to Ottawa, partly because of the miles, but mainly because I’d accidentally left my MacBook at home and wanted to go get it.
There were no other direct YYC–YOW flights after AC 352 @ 9:55 AM that I was booked on. Despite plenty of options connecting through YYZ and YUL, I could not SDC to any of them.
And, it’s not like this was at the end of the operational day when there are naturally limited options. Even the eventual flight delay wouldn’t allow a reroute with SDC.
This really destroys the value of SDC, no matter what status you have.
