I only like window seats and there are no good good window seats in the "fake" Polaris class.

oh... wait... is this why business class award seats are cheap and plentiful on this route? (because people are trying to avoid if possible?)
I've flown UA four times to Tokyo this year on the 787-9. Three times has been the old configuration (although the odds of getting a Polaris-configured bird are now better than 50%). Getting the old seats really isn't an issue. Business class loads are so low (single digits on all my flights) that you're practically guaranteed to have an empty neighboring seat (and likely entire row). The bulkhead seats aren't bad and you effectively end up with more space than if you had a singe Polaris seat.
