I am able to check 2 bags on United, but then I have an onward domestic flight with Air India to Surat on a separate ticket. They only allow one bag, and they tell me it would cost $137 for a second bag. It would be cheaper to buy a second ticket for that flight and use that ticket for the second bag, but they tell me that a person cannot buy two tickets for the same flight under the same name. Any ideas for how I can take that second bag on the Air India flight without paying that much? Any suggestions appreciated.
