Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!
Very disappointing experience here Dec 6-8. Maybe my standards are just too high, but as a Globalist I was stuck in a tiny room with only one small window. The room itself was tiny, the toilet was wedged up against the tub, and the overall look of the room felt more like the Topeka Airport DoubleTree than the former New York Grand Hyatt.
Aside from the lack of upgrade, or really even reasonable standard room, Globalist recognition is pretty marginal. My status was never mentioned at check-in and I had to ask about the breakfast benefit. It's a drink and a sandwich from the market. The sandwich is premade and thrown in the microwave when you order. To me, that isn't an acceptable substitute for a club lounge or a breakfast, and WOH shouldn't be letting hotels get away with that any more.
I don't think this hotel is deserving of the Hyatt flag. You won't get what you pay for here, and I think they should just go ahead and close it down. Very disappointed.
