Esoteric e-ticket /codeshare thing
Coming back BRU-LON this morning; I found myself at BRU early and so decided to switch from the 07:30 LHR (BA metal) to the 07:00 LGW (SN metal; BA codeshare). BA lounge offloaded me (e-ticket, handluggage only) and sent me off to the SN lounge (with whom they'd talked by phone) to get my new BP. Here's where it got interesting; the SN lady (very nice and helpful throughout) printed off a new BP, but it (obviously) did not have a flight coupon, nor did it say "eticket". Several 'phone calls later she explained that "we don't have a codeshare for e-tickets as we can't tell for sure that you have a ticket [I offered my e-ticket e-mail confirmation]" but that she had talked to the gate and they had agreed to let me board with the BP. Which they did; so it all worked out OK (though I can foresee having to chase the points/miles on this one. But one to watch. I could have found myself on neither flight! Anyone else had this happen?
ps SN flight not particularly recommended ; titchy Avro, prone to turbulence; bus stand at LGW. Though still quicker into Central London than the 7:30, what with LHR holding patten and the Piccadilly Line to take into account......
