Hello folks. Lots of questions here about carry-on, and weight limits! My question relates to neither -- just dimension. My specific case applies to long-haul international flight (SFO <-> ZHR).
The maximum size of a checked bag, before it gets categorized as Excess Baggage and costs me $173 per leg, is stated currently as > 158cm. I am looking at purchasing a new bag that happens to be 160.5cm in size (this includes the rollers and handle). I know how the Swiss can be so I have some concern about getting a hassle here. At the same time, I have never seen a gate agent whip out a tape measure on a checked bag. They tend to scrutinize the weight. For those with more experience on Swiss airlines than I, how concerned should I be about being 2.5cm over the checked bag dimension limit?
