What next...??
By the book you should quarantine for 10 (?) days. If you've arranged the test through the hotel then they will know the result. Will they then take the responsibility for your quarantine...??
You'll have provided details about yourself undoubtedly as part of taking the test...so you'll be trackable by local law enforcement. Consequently simply swopping hotels carries a risk as well if you don't play by whatever local rules are in place.
Basically you're a leper...and going out anywhere means probably breaking local requirements about Covid tests with potential exposure to dire consequences.
That's why in my mind this requirement is such a disaster. If I test +ve on my return, then I can at least hunker down at home, no issue.
I've a DXB trip coming up in Jan... what are people's thoughts...?? The possibility of playing footsie with Dubai law enforcement on +ve test...??

With respect to SA ( a country we love and seriously considered buying a vacation home in/near Camps Bay) why would one consider going there in the present? Test all you want before you go and when you land there is an elevated chance of getting the Corvid or a variant. I still can not get a handle on 12/16 hours on a plane wearing a mask the whole time, limited service ( prepared foods etc) then long lines before and after, then worried about everywhere you go and things you do, please someone tell me where the pleasure of travel is????????
Dubai I would feel generally better off than most nations I WOULD NOT try to "play footsie" with the local police.
