FWIW, can’t remember exact dates and details, but to avoid expiring miles or points, I’ve called several loyalty programs and asked for a customer service credit of 1 (one) point or mile. Best I can recall that request was successful at various times with Alaska, Hilton and Delta.
I also once discussed something similar via emails with the Guest Services director at a Hyatt Regency who I’d interacted with during 6-8 prior stays over the preceding 2 years. Emails on Dec 22 and 23, asked for a customer service credit of exactly 217 points just because I wanted a round number for year-end balance, 217 points posted on Dec 30 as “Hyatt Regency ABCDEF, Reward Bonus”.
Never hurts to ask, worst they can do is say no. In fact, with Alaska a year ago I was told “NO” during the call but 1 mile appeared in my account a couple of days later. In the interests of redundancy, I still did an opinion survey to generate another activity.
