BA owes a 261/2004 duty of care. That does not depend on the precise timing of the cancellation.

In contrast, cash compensation under 261/2004 does depend on the precise timing of the cancellation, but "extraordinary circumstances" and "reasonable measures" - which could constitute a reason for BA not being liable to pay cash compensation - are the things that we have been discussing above.
Having read a little on this policy it stated if your flight is cancelled within 14 days of departure then you should be due compensation. I was just wanting to know if anyone has had any success with these claims before.
