The leisure/conference traffic is gone. Business traffic is very small but still exists. However, they are lots of family split between HK and UK who have not reunited for a long time. Many HK students in UK and some UK exchange students. There can be seasonal demand from those, especially near the holidays. 21 days quarantine is very painful, but not a total deterrent.
The few CX flights are very full in December (both directions).

I don't mean that there is huge demand, but certainly significant pax demand (plus cargo) for some flights every week. CX cannot offer many flights because of the strict quarantine rules on its crew when they return to HK. In a way BA is in a better situation than CX quarantine-wise.
Yes - guess it is what you mean by demand - as you say compared to over 2,000 seats a day from London alone its way down and also with no LH and AF flights that will make the few flights that operate busier. The rules for CX crew are very tough so I can see why they struggle to get any volunteers. Though I have to say that anyone that can do the 21 days in a sea container is made of sterner stuff than I am. I just simply doubt I could do it...... I just hope at some point these rules relax and that HK becomes accessible - it was just such a great place to go.....
