That probably screws my odds of getting my RUC upgrade from LAS-JFK. I'm sure others who are wait-listed for an RUC will get them first, since I'm not even checked in now....
If it's any consolation I don't think you being checked in or not will have any effect on your RUC. You'll be an unpleasant surprise for whomever you push out of getting an upgrade when you suddenly pop onto the upgrade list above them, but as long as you're checked in by the time the agents process the upgrade list shortly before boarding you'll be fine.
