I wouldn't get too worked up about it, if VeriFLY won't accept it then I doubt you would have any problems at check-in when you show them the paperwork. VeriFLY isn't compulsory. The 8 hour bit concerns me though, normally VeriFLY confirms manual uploads in maybe 2 hours or less, and 4 hours is there service level, so that bit I don't understand or relates to something else.
