remember that 12.30 isn't lunchtime in Spain
Just a little counter on behalf of IB to the original poster:
getting a snack at 12.30 is really only in keeping with the Spanish way of life generally, which is sort of what could be expected on a Spanish domestic flight - lunchtime doesn't roll around until about 2.30 or so (in fact I'm on a 4.05 pm BCN-ZRH next week which lists 'lunch' as being served).
and I don't think that it's unreasonable of them to be serving cava rather than champagne, given that the Spanish are very proud of their version of fizzy wine.....
