What I find most interesting is how many companies use Amazon Web Services (AWS) and don't have failover servers. So many things aren't working at the moment - Alexa, McDonald's, Wendy's, some Netflix content, etc.
There was actually some multi-region stuff that wasn't working (like logging in to the AWS console with root credentials, according to Amazon), so it's hard to say how much of that was the fault of Netflix, and how much was Amazon.
Alexa is definitely the interesting one though.
For what it's worth, I know for a fact that AC has
some stuff in us-east-2. But I don't know if that case is instead of us-east-1 or in addition to.
