My flight on 22/11 left two hours late because there was no third party staff to clean the aircraft. Coming back we arrived a few minutes only to find our gate occupied by a late-leaving flight. After an hour on the tarmac, we were allocated another gate, but when we reached it there were no bridge staff available to attach the air bridge. After another hour we eventually disembarked.
This was the third set of flights for me in the last two months delayed both outgoing and incoming by staffing issues at Heathrow. No delays at the destination airport, and no delays caused by the metal or by BA.
The announcement at the Gate is all blaming ‘late arriving aircraft’ which needs to be cleaned and sanitised… bla bla bla…the aircraft has been parked at Heathrow since yesterday… inept customer services at Concorde Room (manxplaining to me how long it takes to taxi a b777 from T4 to T5). OMG.
