The perk is advertised broadly as an "Experience Credit", which may include food, spa, or other services. Any reference you see to a "Food & Beverage Credit" is simply referring to the umbrella Experience Credit term (or possibly a confused reference to the separate Daily Breakfast for Two benefit).
You should always ask at check-in what the Experience Credit can be used on but, in browsing hotels,
I don't know if I've ever encountered one where the Experience Credit could not be used at the property's restaurant. (This statement corrected by mia below)
Also, in looking at
the FHR page for Kimpton La Peer, their Experience Credit is clearly advertised as "US$ 150 Food and Beverage Credit to be used during your stay", so it appears your information is wrong. Also worth noting that this particular property offers a $150 Experience Credit rather than the standard $100 Experience Credit (I
suspect because its prices may be relatively higher).
