Thanks for the replies, but my question was conflated with whether I provided enough/correct info or not. The documents could have been crayon drawings. The question was since an AA agent reviewed and approved the documents at my departure city, is it responsible for any of my costs since I was denied boarding with the same documents at the TATL gateway. For example if I was traveling to Brazil when visas were required, and I flew BNA-DFW-GRU and the BNA gates agent checked my visa and let me board but at DFW, the agent said no go, wouldn't that be AA's responsibility to get me home? (BNA is random; I would watch as AA agents would look at my Argentinian sticker [about half the time] and let me go through - there was a BR sticker too)
For those insisting on details, as noted, it doesn't matter, an AA agent said you're good to fly and gave us boarding passes through to our destination. If there isn't enough info for you, don't answer. And if that makes my question sound more cagey, so be it. Also, since this is currently being fought via CC charge back, I am going to be cagey as all heck.
I'd be concerned that someone can simply say "nope" and you're out of luck with no recourse. And not every jurisdiction has e-versions of vaccination proof. Note that once the agents were pressed with a "why" there was a whole lot of scurrying going on. Not a soul would lift a finger to assist. Asking for someone in charge was a waste of breath. Calling CS was a useless waste of time. AA talking to the OW desk also provided no answers. But again, an AA agent had already reviewed and approved.
Cheers
The details may in fact not be relevant - but since you didn’t know the answer to your question how can you be so certain that the details aren’t important? One of the main reasons people ask for details is to make sure they actually have the whole story. And when someone is reluctant to share details, it’s natural for most observers to wonder why…
