There is a whole lists of threads on this in Travel Technology and even on in OMNI (now reopened since the Fuhrer's re-election) about the options.

My tip is go with bose; just dont buy them in the UK as they are a rip off at GBP275, you can get them at the www.bose.com website for US delivery $299 plus a free Bose CD player right now. This is the same for whichever brand you go with. Also check www.eBay.co.uk for second hand bargains.
