I have BA status and most of my biz goes to the Atlantic JBA. BA service is, well, variable. Sometimes: it's bad. Punctuality on Sundays in SH is pathetic.

BUT: Having held SEN for 6 years when I was younger, as a genuine Frequent flyer - the amount of time lost by connecting adds up massively. I reckon to the tune of 100+ hours a year of extra travelling time. That's an entire waking week of your year lost in FRA/MUC/ZRH. I'd much rather spend that "extra week" of my life either in London at home/office or in the places I'm travelling to. Frankly, I'm willing to have a "good enough" flying experience to have an extra week a year of life to live.

As for VS: I have a VS Gold card, and the 2-3 times I've tried to call them during the pandemic have made me long for the GGL line's responsiveness.

Horses for course: if you fly 2-3 times a year, then the luxe of EK/LX/LH F seem super attractive. If you're doing it every 1-2 weeks, the considerations are very different. In sum: there's no amount of caviar appetizers that would make me give up extra couple of hours each trip.
