I am really irritated that the Chase Aeroplan card has more valuable features than Amex Reserve Aeroplan desipite the Amex fee being 5 times higher. I hope Amex will get a lot of cancelation to get the message (I will probably be one of them and apply for Chase). Chase is better for those that do not obtain easily elite status because:
- it maintains elite status after only 15,000 USD per year
- it is Mastercard and it can be used in many more places including Costco
- no exchange fee.
- higher restaurant and grocery rate


I cannot think of any Amex perk that trumps any of the above.
