At first, I was bothered because I was looking forward to trying Qsuites on my first segment. However, after flying the 2x2x2 777-200LR, the Qsuite 777-200LR, and the 1x2x1 787-9 with suites (not qsuite) my preference is actually the other two products before Qsuite. IMO - it is not worth altering an entire trip, not to mention there is no guarantee there won't be another aircraft swap on your new itinerary. I'd go with the option that worked best with my schedule instead of chasing Qsuites. Avoid the A330 though as 5 out of 6 configs are angle lie flat.
All three were nice products with the suites being more modern/sleek looking. Obviously the 2x2x2 config is not ideal if on the outside, but middle seats were great, spacious, and still offered enough privacy.
The storage of the tray tables for the Qsuites were positioned poorly. I could not bend at the knees, while laying down, without hitting the tray table above. I'm not tall, at 5'8, and have not had this problem with any other biz product I've flown (Cathay, Qantas, QR, AA).
Pro for the Qsuites is the ability to have a "double" bed if traveling with a companion. I did find those few inches of additional space were nice while laying down.
I thought I read somewhere else that all a330’s are lie flat? Bit concerned as a330’s are now doing BKK and HKT
