Many others here will comment on the rights and wrongs of the new requirement to take a pre-departure test, but travelling with my 83 year old father in law earlier this week really has brought home to me just how these ever-changing rules really are putting the less internet savvy at an incredible disadvantage. I am not 100% convinced this incredibly intelligent but slightly vulnerable man could have got home without me.
i appreciate that we are in the middle of a pandemic. But these frequent rule changes, often accompanied by costs and requiring document after document to be filled in online will disproportionately hit the less affluent and technologically capable for very little gain. There has to be a better way.
