I'm not as optimistic as you that United will reward the folks who completed the promotion. They have much more of a "no elite left behind" philosophy than providing varied rewards for varied results.

I think the most likely outcome is reduced qualifications for all next year at some point. And, maybe another promo mid-year or 4Q for some to catch up.
