How about the Andaz / Shoreditch area? Went for the first time a couple months ago and quite enjoyed it, esp. if you don't need to be near "touristy" London. If not doing the GSY, you'll get better benefits vs. a SLH, and may feel a bit more unique vs. the Churchill.
