Question London best hotels recommendations on points?

My wife and I plan to go to London for three or four nights in early June, on points. I'd been leaning toward the Great Scotland Yard, partly because of the great reviews and partly because a suite was available as an award stay. But after getting some useful feedback from folks here about that suite option, I'm reconsidering.

The main alternatives seem to be the Churchill and the several Small Luxury Hotel options. Since I used to live in London and we've both been back many times, we'd like to be pretty central but tourist attractions aren't important. We're more into lots of walking, exploring parks, pubs, restaurants, etc.

A few features that would be nice but not essential:

1. A chance at a good room or perhaps even suite upgrade, for my Globalist status or our special occasion for the trip.
2. A nice breakfast selection. (Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the SLHs offer only continental breakfasts.)
3. Access to a good lounge (which I believe is only the case for the Churchill).
4. Any distinguishing features, such as what I've read about the bar and martinis at Dukes.
5. If in a regular room, one that isn't too tiny.
6. A place not swarmed with tour groups.

Thanks for any advice/suggestions.
